"Here, now."

ici publishes YOUR content on the iPhone/iPod Touch.

Use ici for a wide variety of applications such as:

- Cultural Event Guide

- Mobile tour guide

- Local news

- Special interest magazines

Use ici to find out about what is happening in an area as reported by other ici users. If you observe something worth noting, share your thoughts with other ici users by posting a message.

What do you write about? How about your ten favorite places to go in your area? How about the weather, the buildings, the trees, the beer, the lunch, or anything else that is on your mind? Write a sentence, a paragraph, or a few pages. When finished, hit the send button to post your story. ici marks the location where you composed the message and publishes your message to other ici users.

Channels

All ici content is categorized by channel. For example, there is a channel reserved for architecture which discusses notable buildings.

Some channels are managed by organizations that have content to share. These channels announce news, events, and promotions in the area. For example, the organizer of a local art fair might post descriptions of artist and galleries participating in the art fair.

Map

The ‘Map’ button displays a map of the surrounding area. The map marks some locations with colored pins.

The red pin marks your current location as reported by your device. If your mobile device uses GPS (Global Position System) technology, the location is very accurate. If your mobile device uses cellular triangulation, the accuracy varies widely depending on the signals in your area.

Purple pins mark the locations associated with the headlines. Touch a purple pin to see the story placed at that location.

The green pin marks your intended location. You may establish an intended location by pressing the ‘Mark’ button. A green pin drops down from above on the center of the map to indicate your intended location. The Mark feature is very handy for finding out what is happening in an area that you plan to go to. After you mark a location, ici provides you with the relevant stories for that location just as if you were there.
